GURBANI ON HOW GOD'S DIVYA SWAROOP LOOKS WITH KESH/ LONG UNCUT HAIRS --> BY GURU SAHIB / BHAGATS WHO EXPERIENCED GODS DARSHAN WHEN HE CHOOSES TO APPEAR IN A FORM

Kesh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji said Uncut Hair is a symbol of acceptance of your form as God intended it to be.

Hair is a gift from God, not a burden. Sri Guru Gobind Singh, in his infinite wisdom, commanded us to respect it and to refrain from tampering with it. If we have faith in our Guru who was in communion with God, how can we do anything but follow his advice?

There are various Shabads in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib where in Guru Sahibs / Bhagat's give words to their experience.  When paarbrahm parmeshwar chooses to appear to them in a form. Shabads clearly explain the concept of Guru Sahib / Prophets keeping of un cut hair.

God is KesvaGod is referred to as "Kesva" ( ਕੇਸਵ ) - "having long hair"

1. In this Shabad, God is referred to as having hair which is "Wondrous and Beautiful":
Nirhārī *kėsav* nirvairā.
He does not need to eat; His Hair is Wondrous and Beautiful; He is free of hate.
(SGGS p98)

2. In this Shabad, God is referred to as "the beautifully-haired Lord":
Sagal paḏārath asat siḏẖ nām mahā ras māhi. Suparsan bẖaė *kėsvā* sė jan har guṇ gāhi.(4)
All wealth, and the eight miraculous spiritual powers are in the supremely sublime essence of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

Those humble beings, with whom the beautifully-haired Lord is thoroughly pleased, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.(4) (SGGS p203)

3. In this Shabad, God is referred to as having "long hair"

Ŧėrė bankė loiṇ ḏanṯ rīsālā. Sohṇė nak jin *lammṛė vālā.*
Your eyes are so beautiful, and Your teeth are delightful.
Your nose is so graceful, and Your hair is so long.
(SGGS p567)

Satguru Ram Das Sahib appointed four GURMUKHS / masands, Bhai Gurdas Ji, Taru, Bharu and Dasa to cover East, and Western world - all places travelled by Guru Nanak Sahib

In 1575, Satguru Ram Das Sahib appointed four masands, one in the east, and three in western world, those areas of the world, travelled by Satguru Nanak Sahib and Bhai Mardana Ji. He appointed Bhai Gurdas Ji, Taru, Bharu ( Son of Bhai Malo, a Pima Indian of Mexico), and Dasa

Bhai Gurdas Ji himself was appointed in Agra on the eastern side

He explained the Sikh Philosophy, at the conference of Diwan-I-Ilahi. of Akbar, on September.30, 1577 (Ref. Mughal court proceedings, and Akbarnama).

Satguru Ram Das covered with Masands, those areas of the world, travelled by Satguru Nanak Sahib and Bhai Mardana Ji. He appointed Taru, Bharu ( Son of Bhai Malo, a Pima Indian of Mexico), and Dasa.

Taru was a masand of Kabul, Middle East, upto Eastern Turkey

(Ref. Mahan Kosh).

Dasa Was the Masand of Africa and Mauritius

(Ref. Satguru Nanak Sahib and Satguru Hargobind Sahib in Malindi (Kenya, by Harpal Singh Kasur). Their fore -fathers purchased some land in Bamunanika, Uganda.Satguru Nanak Sahib went to "Dese Wa"( Prachin Panth Prakash, by Sardar Rattan Singh Bhangu, 1841. This "Dese Wa" is called Uganda and East Africa ( Ref. A.H.Keane, 1896). For your kind information, Bamu Nanika was named by King Jemba (Ref. "Travels of Guru Nanak", by Surinder Singh Kohli, 1969). The earlier name of Bamunanika was "Bamoli"( Ref Queen Mother, Antola of Uganda).

Bharu was Masand of North and South America.

The son of Bhai Malo of Santa Fe (present day America) ( Ref. American Sikhs in Sixteenth Century, by Bhai Harpal Singh Kasoor). He covered almost all the North and South America. As regards his "Kirat" he along with Mandoza Indians, ans Tewa Indians, did dairy( Ref. "The Cattle Industry of Southern Arizona 1540-1940, A Ph.D. thesis of 1949, by Dr. J.J.Wagner, published by University of Arizona, Tuscon, 1952).

In this article, I am describing abount Dasa, his head quarter, and first Sikh warehouse in Kenya with a Nishan Sahib,in 1891). The location of first Sikh warehouse, is in Malindi (Kenya).It is s of Dasa was in Makindu Sahib, Kenya. This Makindu Sahib is located near river Athi, where Sikhs were inhabited before 18th century (Ref A Personal letter to William Franklin, dated September 26, 1768. Athi River is a"limped stream". It is also called Stony Athi River (Ref. Kenya Gazette, 1952. Due to stones in it, its water is cristal clear and is free from mud.

There was a meeting held in London, which was attened on Sep.26,1768, by George Forester, George Brown and others. They were asked to change the alphabet. The spelling of the word"Sieek" was changed by every writer. Finally, the modern spelling of "Sikh" was made by the attendants of that meeting.( Ref letter, dated Sep. 26th 1768, to William Franklin).The letter was written by Lady Elizabeth Craven, an extensive traveller, describing the beauty of the areas around limped streem, which is Athi River. This Athi River starts from Thika Falls. This william Franklin was in the Mughal court of Shah Alum-II. In his correspondence to the Lady, he describes the future scheme of change alphabets. with this proposed change, the history of Sikhs have been resticted to a few countres.

What existed before this Universe came into being? How the Universe we see was created? What shall happen to Universe later?

1.1 What existed before this Universe came into being?

adi roop anadi moorat ajoni purkh apar.
sarb maun trimaun dev abhaiv adi oodar.
sarb palak sarb ghalak sarb ko puni kal.
jatar tatar birajhi avdhoot roop rasal. (79)

The Infinite God existed before the Era. His origin is unknown. He is unborn, Omnipresent, and Unlimited.
'JAAP SAHIB'...........ROOAL CHHUND. TAV PARSAD (BY YOUR GRACE)

Before the universe came into manifestation, there was nothing except the all-pervading Truth. There was no form of any kind-subtle or gross. The formless God absorbed in profound primal silence existed all alone. How long such a state existed, He alone knows.

The above Gurbani Sabad describes the nebulous darkness that pervaded before the creation of the Universe. Everything was in a nebulous state. Nothing visible existed. No fauna or flora had been created. There was neither earth nor sun nor the moon. There was no direction, no heaven or hell. Even Brahma, Bisan and Mahes did not exist. There were no empty rituals, or any places of pilgrimage. It was all- pervading Sunn (Primal Silence) and Sach-khand.

1.2 How the Universe we see was created?

Let’s see what major religions of the worl have to say on this:

Hinduism:

First the murmuring sounds resembling those of the waves of the ocean, the fall of rain and then running rivulets, after which the bhervi will be heard, intermingled with the sounds of bell and conch.......NAD BINDUPANISHAD

Jains also agree that the world came into existence from sound. That sound is Oankar, Oankar (Saviour of all).

In Islam Mohammad Sahib, the founder of lslam declared that one sound came out from God. The sound was 'Kun' and there from the world came into existence.

The Muslim Sufis declare:

Creation came into being from Saut (Sound or Word)

and from Saut spread all light.

SHAMAS TABREZ

The Great Name is the very essence and life of all names and forms.

Its manifest form sustains creation;

It is the great ocean of which we are merely the waves,

He alone can comprehend this who has mastered our discipline.

ABDUL RAZAQ KASHI

Similarly in Christianity according to Bible one sound came from God. Which one? It was 'Logos'. From this the creation came into existence. In the Gospels we have: In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with. God and the Word was God..............ST. John

Moses heard the commandments of God amidst thunder and flame, while in Zoroastrian and Taoist thought alike there are references to the “Creative Verbum,” the “Divine Light,” and to the “Wordless Word,” the silent Word.

In SIKHISM SGGS chapter ''SIDH GHOSHT'', Guru Nanak ji confirms God himself is in SUN SMADH / IN THE PRIMAL VOID FORM, then extends himself in "NIRGUN FORM" of WORD / SHABAD/ MANTAR to have his GREAT PLAY created.....Shabad is the directive agent of God, the cause of all creation.

Eh viss sansar tum dekhdey ehu Harka roop hay Har roop nadari aya||
Jo jo racheyo su tisseh dhiyat||

Guru Nanak Ji confirms that this WORD/ sound current is ''ONKAR''. In all of GOD's creations this SOUND CURRENT of ''ONKAR'' exists.

At one point in time, God conceived the idea of bringing His creation or universe into play. How this play manifested, is explained in Gurbani by Guru Nanak Dev Ji:

SAACHE TE PAVNNA BHA-I-YA
PAWANAI TE JAL HOE ||
JAL TE TRIBHWAN SAAJIAA
GHAT GHAT JOT SAMOYE||
(Siree Raag Mahalaa –Page 19)

To start the creative process Nirankaar (formless God) created Air, then Water & Fire. Mixture of these three elements leads to a nebulous state (Dhundoo-kaaraa). Guru Nanak Dev Ji says in Gurbani:
JA TIS BHAANA TAA JAGAT UPAYA
BAAJH KALAA AADAAN RAHAA-I-AA
BRAHMAA BISAN MAHES UPAAE
MAA-I-AA MOH WADHAA-IDAA || 14 ||
WIRLE KAO GUR SABAD SUNAA-I-AA
KAR KAR DEKHAI HUKAM SABAA-I-AA
KHAND BRAHAMAND PAATAAL ARAMBHE
GUPATAH PARGATEE AA-IDAA|| 15 ||
TAA KA ANTH NA JAANAI KOEE
POORE GUR TE SOJHEE HOEE
NAANAK SAACH RATE BISMAADEE
BISAM BHAE GUN GAA-IDAA|| 16 ||
(Maaroo Mahalaa–1 Page 1035)

As and when God willed, He created Maya and put three powers under its authority and also determined the extent of the Universe. In the region demarcated, the physical universe was manifested and creatures created. Ensnaring web of Maya was spread all around. He Himself manifested in His creation as the invisible subtle Atma.

GHAT GHAT RAV RAHEIA BANVAAREE
JAL THAL MAHEEAL GUPTO WARTAI
GUR SHABDEE DEKH NIHAAREE JEEO ||
(Sorath Mahalaa –1 Page 597)

To fulfill the needs of the various life forms on the Earth planet, a necessary contact has been established with the other cosmic bodies like the moon and the sun. The whole Universe runs under His command.

1.3 What shall happen to Universe later?

Ek murat(i) anek darsan, kin rup anek. Khel khel akhel khelan, ant ko phir(i) ek.
When He wishes to end the cosmic play and be all by Himself again, all the life-forming elements disappear into their original essence and this leads back to a nebulous state (dhundoo-kaaraa).

What kind of sounds come from God's Secret Shabad - 'Anhad Bani' or 'Sahaj Dhun' , the insignia of His existence? Where it is manifested in our body?

1.1 What kind of sounds come from God's Secret Shabad - 'Anhad Bani' or 'Sahaj Dhun'

'Anhad Bani' or 'Sahaj Dhun' or 'Sound Current' or 'Music at Tenth Door' (in human being) or 'Music at Agya Chakra' is the 'Sound Vibration' which is vibrating 24x7 non stop. This is supporting the whole of universe than we can see and also which we cannot see. This is the sound through which God extended himself and created the universe, thus manifested himself in his creation by the means of this sound vibration. This is the Creators Tool for bringing in existence from VOID.

This very 'Sound Crrent' - 'Shabad' is the ENTRY & EXIT DOOR for living being to be created as INDIVIDUAL SOUL (say assume as a drop of water)  & to merge back in God (say assume  an ocean). Without reaching this sound current what may we do in our lives nothing can take us back to God  - our Source of Existence.

God in His grace and mercy reveals His this secret Sabad-the insignia of His existence- (Anhad Bani or Sahaj Dhun) to some blessed soul. The medium of REVEALING is FIXED and that is through GURU - TEACHER - PROPHET - MESSENGER and the appointment of the Guru is also by God himself. We human beings cannot choose from available famous ones which we see on television or DVDs. The (God appointed) Guru gives his gurmantra and through only practising mediation of this Gurmantra the secret Anhad Sabad is revealed to the seeker.

RAAM KO NIRITKAAREE ||
PEKHAI PEKHANHAAR DA-I-AALAA JETAA SAAJ SEEGAAREE || (RAHAO)
(Raamkalee Mahalaa- 5 Page 884)
These sounds resemble the tones and tunes of a flute, gong, conch shell, horn, tinkling bells, trumpet, rebeck, singing cicadas in the silence of the night, and a falling bronze vessel. Other than these five, many more melodies manifest. On the opening of the sixth chakra, the Sabad enters the Gagan (the Tenth Sky) This continuously reverberating melody at the Tenth Sky is called Sahaj Dhun or Anhad sabad The combined symphony of these sounds is called Anhad Bani. When these melodies are very loud and fast they are called Taar Ghor Bajaantar (The grand orchestra of divine music).

1.2 Gurbani tells us where exactly this sound current is vibrating in our sukhsham shareer:

II Naou darvaaje kaaiaa kotu hai dasavai gupat rakheejai.

Bajjar kapaat n khulanee gur Shbadi khuleejai.
Anhad vaaje Dhuni vajade gur shabadi suneejai.
Tit ghat antar chaananaa kari bhagti mileejai.
Sabh mahi ek vartadaa jin aape rachan rachaaee ||15||(sggs 954):
The fortress of the body has nine gates; the tenth gate is kept hidden. The rigid door is not open; only through the Shabad can it be opened. The Anhad Dhuni or the unstruck sound current resounds and vibrates there. It is heard by the Shabad. Deep within the nucleus of the heart, the Divine Light shines forth. Through Bhagti, one meets the Lord. The One Lord is pervading and permeating all; he Himself created the creation ||15|| (sggs 954).

1.3 Gurbani tells exact location of this 'Hidden Tenth Door' in our sukhsham shareer:

The Sukhmana Naadi located in the centre of the spine travels upward making six circles (charkas). These six charkas are called khat charkas or shae ghar (six plexus or centers). Sound current of the vital air reverberating through them produces different sounds.

All these melodies reverberate at the Tenth Door above the confluence of Ida, Pinglaa, Sukhmana and are called the divine music in the house of Sukhmana “Sukhman De Ghar Raag”.
The confluence of three energy channels - nadis of our sukhsham shareer which carry vital paon - vital air, namely Ida, Pinglaa, Sukhmana is called Piraag (holy place of pilgrimage). This confluence is also called Sunn or Teerath etc. in Gurbani. When Naam (Anhad Sabad) manifests at this confluence, it is called Amritsar (pool of ambrosia).
Gurbani says:
'khat mat dayhee man bairaagee'
Above the six chakras of the body dwells the detached mind.

GOD's LIGHT (Nirankaar Jot / Param Jot) manifested himself in our body - Know full location of God's Light in our Body

The fifth master Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji received Akath Katha Giaan (discourse on subtle spiritual union with Nirankaar) from Guru Ram Das Ji.

Having been united with Nirankaar, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji reveals this to us through Gurbani:

SUNN SAMAADH GUPHAA TAH AASAN ||
KEVAL BRAHAM POORAN TAH BAASAN ||
BHAGAT SANG PRABH GOSAT KARAT ||
TAH HARKH NA SOG NA JANAM NA MARAT ||
(Raamkalee Mahalaa 5 (Page 894)

ANHAD BAAJE ACHRAJ BISMAAD ||
KEL KARAH SANT HAR LOG ||

(Raamkalee Mahalaa 5 (Page 888)

About the abode of Nirankaar Bhagat Benee Ji says in Gurbani:

EKO ONKAR SATGUR –PARSAD
IRA PINGLA AUR SUKHMANA TEEN BASAH IK THAAEE ||
BENEE SANGAM TAH PIRAAG MAN MAJAN KARE TITHAAEE ||
SANTAH TAHAA NIRANJAN RAAM HAI ||

MAAHE NIRANJAN TRIBHAVAN DHANEE ||
PANCH SABAD NIRMAA-IL BAJE ||
DHULKE CHAVAR SANKH GHAN GAAJE ||
(Raamkalee Baani Benee Jeo Kee 974)

Bhai Gurdass has also made a mention:

JOG JUGAT GHAT SADH HAR, PAWNA THAIHRAYE ||
TAB KHAT CHAKRA SAIHJE KHIRHE GAGNA GHAR CHHAYE ||
NIJ SUN SAMADH LAGAIE KAI ANAND LIV LAYE ||
TAB DARGEH MUKH UJJALE PAT SION GHAR JAYE ||
(Var 41 Bhai Gurdass Ji)

This leaves no doubt in our minds as to where Nirankaar manifests in our body. He manifests in our body above the spot called DASAM DWAR / 10th Gate / Trikuti (the confluence of Ida, Pingula, and Sukhmana). The above shabad clearly states the location is above the 6th (khat) chakra (energy center) of our body and refered as gagan. The passage to form less God starts from tenth door / at Agya chakra (mid of eye brows) and then through the shrunk off Sukhmana. Those who recite His Name with loving devotion and detachment are blessed with a berth in the celestial home.

Guru Sahib further explains how the UNION WITH GOD can be achieved through practcing SHABAD - GURMANTAR:

ਸਿਤਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ (1038)

satgur tay paa-ay veechaaraa.
From the True Guru, contemplative meditation is obtained.
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਿਧ ਸਚੇ ਘਰ ਬਾਰਾ (1038)

And then, one dwells with the True Lord in His celestial home, the Primal State of
Absorption in Deepest Samaadhi.
naanak nirmal naad sabad Dhun sach raamai naam samaa-idaa. ||17||5||17||
O Nanak, the immaculate sound current of the Naad, and the Music of the Shabad resound; one merges into the True Name of the Lord. ||17||5||17||

Find out the PLAY between God & The Soul

1.1 What transpired between God and Atma?

God informed Atma that He is going to enact a cosmic play in which Atma would play a role. Atma would play its part and return Home (Nij Ghar) within the preordained period of time, irrespective of victory or defeat. Further, the Atma was told that it would go into the field of Maya and play the game of life with a fixed amount of precious life- breath (swasaa da dhan) as its prime Capital. As soon as the precious Capital is used up, irrespective of winning or losing the game of life, the individual soul will have to return Home. Thus the soul would visit the Earth as a guest and return Home like a guest does after a brief sojourn away from home.
This cosmic play shall be enacted through Sabda (Naam). The Play will begin with separation from the Sabad and end with a reunion with the Sabad. While playing the game the Atma sometimes will merge with or separate itself from the Sabad.The formless God will always keep in contact with the Atma through His divine Light. Assuming of visible physical form and separation from the Word (shabad) will be called birth and discarding of the physical vesture and remerging with theSabad will be called death:
MARAN LIKHAAE MANDAL MAH AYE
JEEVAN SAAJAH MAAEE ||
(Raamkalee Mahalaa 1 Page 876)

1.2 What system Nirankar has made for forgetful like us to remind us of our source our origin and path backward?

Then on Atma’s inquiry about its food for survival during a sojourn on the Earth, the formless God said, “ if you keep my remembrance while manifesting in physical form, you will be provided with Amrit (Nectar-also called Hari Rass, Braham Rass and Naam Rass) and that would be your food.”Atma then said, “if being busy in worldly affairs your remembrance is lost, how will I regain this memory?.”
Then The God said, “ My Hukam would be inscribed on the forehead of your physical body, on reading which you will remember me.”
MASTAK HOVAI LIKHIAA HAR SIMAR PARAANEE
TOSSA DICHAI SACH NAAM NAANAK MIHMAANEE ||
(Gaoree ke Vaar Mahalaa 5- page 319)
On coming face to face with each other, human beings will be able to remember God. If because of ignorance, they fail to decipher the decree on the forehead, they will have to join the holy congregation to re-discover the secret.
POORAB JANAM HAM TUMRE SEWAK
AB TAU MITIAA NAN JAAEE
TERE DUAARAI DHUN SAHAJ KEE
MAATHAI MERE DAGAAEE ||
(Raamkalee Baanee Kabeer Jeo kee - page 970)
Doing sewa (selfless service) in holy congregation, you will come across saintly beings who doing their duty will constantly remind the members of the holy congregation the purpose of life and also keep reminding that they must lead a life of pious remembrance and simran (meditation).
In doing pious remembrance and simran (meditation), they will regain memory of their divine Home and secret of Sach-khand and Brahm (the subtle divine knowledge) will be revealed to them. When summoned back Home through Naam, they (gumukhs - God Loving Souls) shall return Home.
